Fitzgerald Condominiums
488 Wabasha Street N, St. Paul, MN, 55101
This historic building, attached to the famous Fitzgerald Theater, was built in 1908. Formally known as the Shubert Building, this notable building was remodeled in 2005 and renamed “The Fitzgerald”. The first floor of the building is retained for commercial use and the upper five floors contain 40 modern boutique style condos. The “European-esque” condominiums range from 320-750 finished square feet. Though smaller than typical condos found in downtown St. Paul, every square inch of the unit is useful and utilized. The units have tall ceilings, large closets, fireplaces and unique floor plans. The homes were designed to be efficient and affordable.
In 1984, the building was added to the National Historic Places and the theater is best known for Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion.”
