June 28th – June 30th, Mears Park will be home to the 14th annual Twin Cities Jazz Festival! Take advantage of the beautiful forecast ahead and envelop yourself in the beats. This is a completely free event and will feature several performers playing on one of three stages. Some featured musicians include: Connie Olson, The Illicit Sextet, Street Groove, Gypsy Mania Hot Club and Barb Wire Dolls. Mears Park is located in the heart of St Paul in Lowertown at Sibley Street and E 5th Street. Parking is available on Kellogg Blvd, off of Broadway and additional lot parking is available near the event as well. Also, Metro Transit is offering free rides to the Fest, just download your pass off of the website. Here is a link to the Metro Transit pass and also the schedule with the performers line up.
It is that time of the year again. The James J. Jill House is gearing up for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This year the hunt will take place on Saturday, April 7th at 10am. The event is for children ages 2-7 and takes place on the lawn of the historic home located at 240 Summit Avenue in St. Paul. For $6 ($2 for Minnesota Historical Society members), your little ones can hunt for eggs, win prizes and enjoy a snack. You will also be allowed to view the first level of the home.
